Missions

BUT YE SHALL RECEIVE POWER AFTER THE HOLY GHOST IS COME UPON YOU; AND YE SHALL BE WITNESSES UNTO ME BOTH IN JERUSALEM, AND IN ALL JUDEA AND IN SAMARIA, AND UNTO THE UTTERMOST PART OF THE EARTH
(ACTS 1:8)

Calvary affirms the Biblical command that every Christian must be able to share the reason for the hope that is within them with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15). We believe it is every Christian’s responsibility and privilege to tell others of Christ’s powerful message of love, hope, and redemption.

God works through those who love and serve Him in many different ways, all across the world. We are privileged to support ministries actively involved in the work of proclaiming the gospel.

Guided by Acts 1:8, we seek to organize our missions portfolio in the following way: local (Jerusalem), national (Judea), the forgotten and marginalised (Samaria), and international (the uttermost part of the earth).

International (Uttermost Part of the Earth)

Since 2003, we’ve been able to partner with the Slavic Gospel Association (SGA) to shine the light of Christ in Russia. Through the Immanuel’s Child program, donations from our church at Christmastime go towards providing needy children with a gift bag containing a present, treats, a children’s Bible, Christian literature, and a Star of Bethlehem Christmas tree ornament, signed by the donor. Follow-up care and discipleship is also an important part of the program, carried out by local pastors and missionaries, like the one Calvary is pleased to support. He is involved in a wide variety of missions activities in his area, focusing on witnessing to children and youth, while also leading his church.

Every October, Calvary gathers donations for SGA’s Immanuel’s Child program. We are currently gathering donations. Each star costs $35 CAD. If you decide to donate via Interac eTransfer, please be sure to specify “Immanuel’s Child star” in the “Message” field.
