Good morning, Calvary!
It’s our prayer that this time of worship will be a blessing to you.
For a true Christian, prayer is not a ritual, it’s a necessity. It is one of the evidences of true conversion, and the manner in which those who follow Christ should pray was a matter on which Jesus specifically taught. In today’s sermon, Pastor Bodner writes,
Your soul can no more live without prayer than your body can live without breath. If your inner man is prayerless, it is lifeless! And your claim to be a Christian is a sham, and a shame, for your soul is no better than a corpse!
Studying the teaching of Jesus Christ on prayer has been our subject for several weeks now. Pastor Bodner has been guiding us line by line through John 6:10, best known as the Lord’s Prayer, carefully studying its patterns and nuances so we can better understand the purposes and design of prayer.
Today we examine the next phrase: our high calling (“Thy Will be done”) and our heavenly calling (“Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven”).
May we learn to pray more deeply so we may serve more fully.

Religion can reform a person’s life, but it can never transform them. Only the Holy Spirit can transform!
