Forgive Us…As We Forgive

Happy Sunday, Calvary!

We turn to the fifth petition of the Lord’s Prayer this morning: “Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” As Pastor Bodner explains, forgiveness is core to the Christian’s life in Christ:

“…we seek anew the blessing that lies at the heart of the Gospel we call again and again  for the mercy underlying every saving good which makes our faith ‘good news’ to a lost world.”

The sermon today will explore the point, the principle, the purpose, and the pathway of the plea.

May God bless our meeting together.

Closing thought

The essence of the Christian life is learning to fight for joy in a way that does not replace grace.
