The Attributes of God: Holiness

Happy (belated) Palm Sunday!

“On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.” (John 12:12-13)

We apologise for the delay with this video, and we’ll be back to a full service this coming Sunday. In the meantime, it’s our hope that this message will bless and encourage you as we prepare our hearts for Easter.

Having previously looked at two of God’s attributes (severity and kindness), Pastor Ralph delves deeper into the attributes of God, this time appreciating His holiness.

As mentioned in the video, here’s a tutorial for how to get the Bible app on your phone.

There are many different digital Bible applications available, but we’ll talk about how you can download one of the most common, called YouVersion/The Bible App.

  1. Open your phone’s app store and search for “The Bible App” or “YouVersion.” Download and install it.
  2. Open the app and create an account to save passage highlights, notes, access and save devotionals, make verse images and prayer lists, and, if you want, add contacts as friends on the app.
  3. To look up a passage, tap on “Read” at the bottom of the screen. Then choose a book, chapter, and verse.
    1. If you’re not sure which verse you need, just choose verse 1.
    2. If you’re not sure of the reference of the verse you need use “Search” at the bottom right.
  4. Choose your version from the menu at the top. You can download versions so that you can use them even if you aren’t connected to WiFi.

If you need more help or want to set up some of the other features of the app, send an email and Emily will help you. For a good online Bible, try Bible Gateway, or Bible Study Tools.

Thank you, Dave, for lending us equipment for our filming!

Knowing God Better

Good morning, visitors and family! This week, in addition to our message, we’re happy to be able to bring you music, a closing prayer, and information about how to give your offering online, so the service components have been ordered as they would be when we all meet together. We’re hoping to release more videos during the course of the week, so follow our website and Facebook page, and subscribe to our YouTube channel so you’ll be notified when we post them.

In our message this week, Pastor Ralph continues to consider themes introduced last week: the severity and the kindness of God. Pastor sheds more light on the importance of understanding these attributes together, both as we read scripture and as we consider events in the world around us.

We pray you’re keeping well! If you have any comments or prayer requests, we’d love to hear from you in the comments section below today’s post. May God bless you as you join us in our meeting today.

God’s Severity and God’s Kindness

Our message today comes from Romans 11:22 and Philippians 4:6-7. You can watch the video here. (We know the picture/audio quality isn’t great; sorry about that. This is our first attempt at recording a message, so please bear with us! I’ve added captions. If they aren’t visible, try opening the video in YouTube.) Below, you’ll find three pre-recorded songs with their lyrics for you to sing after you’ve watched the message. We weren’t able to include them in the video itself, but we’re hoping to bring you music in next week’s recording.

May God bless our time of worship together!

This is our first broadcast, so please bear with us. We recommend turning on subtitles for this video. Though we’re not able to meet together due to measures to combat the spread of COVID-19, Pastor Ralph brings us a brief but timely message this morning from Romans 11:22 and Philippians 4:6-7 on two aspects of God: severity and kindness.

We’re very grateful to Grace for recording these songs for us!
